Frequently Asked Questions
Welcome to the FAQ page. If you’re curious but not quite sure what to expect, I hope the answers below help you feel more at ease.
If you still have any questions, please feel free to get in touch.
What should I expect at my first appointment?
Your first session will begin with a gentle consultation where we’ll talk through your needs, goals, and any relevant health history. This helps me create a personalised approach for your treatment.

The session itself will be unhurried and nurturing, with time for you to relax and feel supported throughout. You are welcome to give me as little or as much information as you feel comfortable as both Reiki and NADA work well as non-verbal treatments.
How should I prepare for a Reiki or acupuncture session?
Wear comfortable clothing and try to avoid caffeine or heavy meals beforehand if you can. Most importantly, bring yourself just as you are, there’s no pressure to “do” anything in the session. I’ll guide you through the whole process.

Please ensure that you have eaten at least 2-3 hours before your session.
What does Reiki feel like?
Everyone’s experience is different. Some people feel warmth, tingling, or a sense of calm and clarity. Others simply enjoy a deep rest. Many report feeling lighter, more balanced, or emotionally released after a session.
Is Reiki safe?
Yes, Reiki is a safe, non-invasive therapy. It works gently alongside any other treatment and is suitable for people of all ages, including children and animals.
Do you offer Reiki for animals?
Yes, I offer distance and in-person Reiki for animals. It can be helpful for emotional or behavioural concerns, recovery after illness or surgery, and simply as a calming support for pets during life changes.
Do I need to believe in energy work for it to work?
Not at all. You don’t need to have any particular beliefs or background for Reiki or acupuncture to be beneficial.
All you need is an open mind and a willingness to receive. Many clients come with a healthy dose of curiosity and leave feeling surprised by the results.
What is the NADA Protocol?
The NADA Protocol is a gentle form of auricular (ear) acupuncture using five specific points to support emotional wellbeing, nervous system regulation, detox, and more. It’s often used for stress, sleep issues, trauma recovery, and hormonal balance.

If you're needle-sensitive or under 12, ear beads can be used as a gentle, effective alternative.
How many sessions will I need?
While even one treatment can be supportive, I generally recommend starting with three sessions to allow your body and mind time to respond.
We’ll check in as we go to make sure it’s the right fit for you.
Can I have Reiki or acupuncture during pregnancy?
Yes, both are considered safe in pregnancy when provided by a qualified practitioner.
I will always adapt treatments to suit your stage of pregnancy and what feels comfortable for you.
Do you offer group sessions or workshops?
Yes, I offer group NADA acupuncture at the Wellum Clinic in Thame and themed essential oil workshops, including sessions on how to make your own natural beauty and cleaning products.
These are a lovely way to connect with others while learning practical ways to support your wellbeing. Details can be found on my contact page.
What’s your cancellation policy?
I kindly ask for at least 24 hours’ notice if you need to cancel or reschedule.

Cancellations with less than 24 hours’ notice or missed appointments will incur the full fee.
